Cannot logon to Project Server 2007

Hi there

I have tested project server 2007 on a virtual environment. Last monday we
installed Project server 2007 on our internal intranet/Moss environment by
using the technet art.

Old Virtual url --> project.domain.nl (internal/external DNS) --> everything
works perfect
MOSS/intranet --> portal.domain.nl ((internal/external DNS) --> PWA no
problem. Office Project 2007 cannot logon.

But when I want to connect with Project 2007 I get the notification Cannot
Logon. But using https://portal.domain.nl/PWA no problem, I have full admin
MOSS/Full admin/resource planner etc etc on PWA but still I cannot logon when
using Office Project 2007 application.

Can someone help??

Are the URL's used for PWA and ProjPro identical ! (ie both an FQDN)

Have you got the correct authentication type configured in connections
settings in ProjPro?

Hi Paul,

PWA and ProjPro url's are exactly the same. I tried both auth. type in
ProjPro (FBA/Windows based) and both dont work. Strange thing is that
everything is working fine on the test environment??
So IE settings/firewall/Antivirus cant be the issue....

Any other suggestions??

Project Pro & IE use the same protocols, so the issue must be related to
either the user account or the connection settings. I have seen AV
interfere, but given it worked in test then I guess you can rule that out.

Try cut & pasting the PWA url from the browser into the connection settings
in Proj Pro.

Hi Paul

Thanks for the fast response. I (again) copy and past the url again from IE
to ProjPro but still no connection. I will ask my MOSS engineer to review all
settings again.
In my opinion I tried everything I can try ;-(
So I hope I can fix this issue fast.

I solved the issue. Dont ask ho:
I Installed the outlook sync addin, filled in the exact same information as
I used for ProjPro and Outlook Sync worked!!???!!! (I was quite surprised)

And now ProjPro connection is working also. I really dont understand what
makes the difference but it's working!
