Cannot move cursor within task name cell to edit

Seems to be a bug in Project 2007. Sometimes after selecting a cell and
hitting F2 to edit the text, the arrow, home, or end keys cause the adjacent
cell to be selected, instead of moving the cursor within the originally
selected cell. You can click on the 'status bar' above, and then edit the
text, which is a pain if you have to edit many cells, or close and reopen
Project, and then it works normally for a while. (normally=select a cell,
hit F2, then move cursor within the cell with arrow, home, & end keys, as in
Excel and other Office apps) I don't know what triggers the change.
Is there a hotfix for this? I searched but could not find anything.

Take a look at Tools-Options-Edit and select the "Edit in Cell" option...
Does that fix it?

That option is checked, and I've never unchecked it. It just moves the
cursor to the edit bar when editing. I'll have to wait for the problem to
re-occur to see if it helps...
