Cannot open Access

I got the error message while I try to open the MS Access file and it said
"This database is in an unexpected state; Microsoft Access can't open it"

Unfortunately, I don't have the backup for it. I already tried to create
the new database and import the data from this damaged file but it's not
working.

Could somebody advise me how to recovery it?

What version is the database and what version of Access do you have?

Teepyos, you might want to check with Peter Miller at
http://www.pksolutions.com - he has a highly regarded database salvage
service. I believe he provides free estimates and no charge if the
data cannot be salvaged.

Then perhaps John was right, your database is corrupted. Have you tried
importing everything except the forms? I have only seen that message when I
try to open and Access XP database in a lower version of Access. XP opens
97, 2k and XP.
