Cannot open attachments MS2007

Since purchasing 2007 [upgrade from 2003] I cannot open attachments. When I
attempt to open saved documents, I get a message "Searching for MS 2003" and
it wants to download that version. I am somewhat computer savvy but this is
beyond my capability. Help me fix it. Dr. J.V. White
