cannot open default email folders error msg

Running Exchange 2007 and outlook 7 -
When I am trying to configure outlook I get this error:

Cannot open your default e-mail folders. You must connect to Microsoft
Exchange with the current profile before you can synchronzie your folders
with your offline folder file

Have tried a few things but havent been able to resolve.
