Cannot open documents, Word 2000

Having lots of trouble with my Word 2000 runing on WinXP.

I appear to have resolved issues with Normal.dot and
PDFMaker.dot but I am still unable to to open previouslly
saved documents. I get the error message 'The file
<filename> is not available.

Please help.

I am having this exact problem also, no headway on fixing
it yet. The file will show up in the open dialog window,
but will not show up in the smaller file selection
window. Is Office 2000, (I am having this problem with
both Word and Excel), incompatable with Windows XP Pro?
