Cannot open embedded file in digitally signed document

I have a problem where i can't seem to double-click to open embedded files/object in a digitally signed office documents.

I can double click to open files if document is not signed. It says "Read-only" on the title bar whenever a document is signed.
Any help would be much appreciated.
