cannot open excel or word attachment after Office 2007 SP1 Update

Hi,

I can no longer open any excel/ word/ enveloped email in my Outlook ever
since I updated to Office 2007 SP1. However, if I forward it to my other
email program, I could open it. What's wrong?

When I tried to open the file directly from the email in Outlook, it gives me
this error message "The system cannot find the file specified".

Then, when I tried to open the file directly from Explorer, it gives me
another error "Windows cannot find (the file name). Make sure you typed the
name correctly, then try again".

I can only open the file from Excel (or Word for a DOCX file or PowerPoint
too, may be) using the File/Open menu. I haven't changed any setting to cause
this. It started to happen only when my Vista installed the SP1 Office update
a few days ago. What gives?

I tried to OutlookTools, but it still doesn't allow opening any Excel file.
It did allow Word file to open, though. One more step to go. :)

Try making the secure temp folder a subfolder of My Documents

How do I change the location of my temp folder a sub folder of My Documents?
Using the Outlook Tools app?

Would this a problem of Rich Text Format? I can no longer open any enveloped
emails (e.g. emails from Yahoo!).

No, by changing the registry key.

I doubt it's related to message format in any way.
