cannot open my files after applying SP3

Word XP: I was working on a rather big document and having
problems with stylesheets and TOC. As I had not applied a
servicepack yet, I decided to download and install SP3. It
asked me to choose between a client and public version(?).
As we're not having broadband I downloaded the client.

After applying and rebooting system, word tells me to re-
activate. I recently replaced mainboard and processor so
already re-activated the maximum number of times. Decided
for the moment to select "activate later".

Now I cannot open any of my documents anymore: error "file
xxx is not available".
These files are on a network and can be opened on another
system with Word XP (SP1)

Any help would be greatly appreciated:)

There is no Office Plut-in in the Symantec Antivirus Small
Business Edition. I did a update though but that didn't
help. Disabling the antivirus doesn't help either......

If Norton AV was installed at one time then the DLL for the Office
Plug-in could still be registered.

Search for : officeav.dll

If you find it then go to Start/Run and run the following command:

regsvr32 /u "<path>\officeav.dll"

Here is a KB article that provides a few additional details. It does
not include information on Norton CE but it will contain additional
details on the unregister command if you need them:
