Cannot open Outlook window

This is the message I get now (after having easily used Microsoft Outlook
2007 for a year):

Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open Outlook window.

Does anyone have an idea why this happens, and how to fix it? The "fix"
offered in Help and Support says to restart the computer. It also says that
this problem happens when you're trying to run it for the first time. Wrong
on both counts. Any help??? Thanks!

This happened to me yesterday for the first time after Outlook crashed,
taking down the entire system. Apparently the Outlook profile became
corrupted. I was able to solve it by creating a new profile. Then I opened
my old PST file, made it the default, re-started Outlook, and closed the new
(empty) PST file that Outlook created.

Outlook 2007? You're most likely to solve it by starting Outlook with the
/resetnavpane switch.

Start >> Run >> outlook.exe /resetnavpane
