cannot open outlook

When i open outlook a message pops up "cannot start MS outlook. Unable to
display the selected folder or item. Errors have been detected in the
file---C:\Documents and Settings\Mike & Lora Lee Lutz\Local
Settings\Application Cata\Microsoft Outlook\outlook.pst." I have run the in
box repair tool and it says there are no errors each time I've run it. I
have located the file in a system search and checked it that way too, but i
still cannot open outlook. Any help would be great. my first time posting
any questions, so if the answer comes back via email...i will not be able to
get to it. Thanks for anyone who takes the time to look into this for me.

I have run it on both the outlook.pst and the archive.pst file (I have never
archived anything so i don't know what that was there before this all
happened)...several times. Are these the correct files? What I have done
now is save the outlook.pst file to my desk top (easier to get to) and then
ran the scanpst on that icon over and over several times during the day.
Then one time it did find errors on the desktop one so i went back to the
original file and tried the scanpst on that one again. It found errors on
that one so i hit the repair box. It did its thing. Outlook now opens! but
all my folders are not quite the same and some are "missing"--just haven't
found them yet?!? Still looking. How do I get them to look like normal
again and once there...how do i save them/back them up in case anything
happens again? Whew , I hope that helps. You insight is welcomed. ~Lora Lee~
