Cannot open PST files

I upgraded from Outlook 2002 to 2007. Now I am not able to attach my old PST
files. File > open has no option for PSTs. In the Account settings, data
files tab, I can click on Add, but under ‘types of storage’, there is
nothing. Is there a way to correct this?

As I said in the original post, the option for PST does not exist. The
options I have under File>open are: selected items, other users folder and
calendar.

Going to File>data file management, on the data files tab there is an option
to Add, but the box that opens is blank under 'types of storage'. I cannot
see a way to add a PST with this.

OK, understood. Unfortunately, you've been confusing the issue by
referring to an "option for PST". The option, when it is there,
doesn't mention PSTs.

There should be a fourth option beneath the three you mentioned. That
option is "Outlook Data File", and it's the one you want.

I don't know why that option isn't there, but I suggest you try
resetting the toolbars:

View > Toolbars > Customize > Toolbars > Reset.

Were I seeing this, I'd start with a clean mail profile. If you're in a
corporate environment, it's possible the IT staff has disabled the ability to
open PSTs.
