I have 1 server with SQL, IIS and Project installed on it. It has an
internal IP address and an external IP address because it is behind a
firewall. This is a standalone server (not on a domain and not a
domain controller). I can access Project Web access with the internal
IP address and can open the project to Microsoft Project with no
problem. If I use the external IP address, I can see the project and
the Project Web Access works fine but when I try to open the project
in Microsoft Project I get the following error: VBScript: Microsoft
Project Web Access - The project could not be opened in Microsoft
Project. This is after Project has launched.
This is what I have been trying: DSN settings with both IP addresses
and the name of the server, Aliases on both the server and the client,
MSDE installed on the client. I do not completely understand how
aliases work so I may have the settings wrong.
Can anyone make any suggestions?
Thanks,
