Cannot Open Saved XML files associated with Infopath Form

I am using Infopath 2003 SP3. About a year ago I published an Infopath form
to a server. Subsequently, employees filled out the form and then saved it
locally (on their PC). Recently the form was moved to a new location on
another domain. Now it is not possible to open the saved forms. The error I
get says that the location assoicated with the saved forms has changed. I
tried republishingthe form to the new location, and although I can open a
blank form I employees are still unable to open their saved forms. Is there
a solution to this?

Open the xml files in a text editor and change the href in the forms to point
it to the newly published template. this will help the forms to use the
infopath template to open. The xml files that you are unable to open are
pointed to the old template which is unavailable now.

Hi Kalyan,

Thanks for the solution. It works as you said, however I have some 1000
forms filled out and each is on a seperate PC used by individual employees.
Is there any other way to do this? I am a little reluctant to have each
employee make the change and my only other option would be to have them email
the forms to me, run a batch file to do the fix, and mail them back.

Well One way of doing it easily is if you have WSS installed on your machine,
you can publish the Infopath form to a Document library and then copy all the
files there and then relink the forms to the template in the form library.

BTW where is your Infopath form published.
