Cannot open the Outlook Window

Everytime I try to open Outlook to check email it fails to load and I get an
error message: (Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the
Outlook window.) Has been working fine in the past. This problem just
started. Help!

Does Microsoft Outlook start in safe mode?

How to:
Select Start | Run
Type: outlook.exe /safe
OK button

Was resetting the navpane the fix?
