Cannot open this item

Recently moved to using Outlook 2007. Send/Receive functioning because mail
continues to come in, but cannot read them - I get the message
'Cannot open this item. This operation is not supported until the entire
message is downloaded. Download the message and try again.'
Makes no difference, and I'm at a loss. Please can anyone help?
