Cannot Open Word Docs in Word XP 2002

I read all the other posts, and followed all of the advice given - STILL - I installed OFFICE XP (2002) - I cannot open any of the previously saved Excel or Word files. And when I create new ones and save them, I can't open those either. The message I get when I try to open is, "The file name is not available." What else can I do? Can someone please help? I really need MY Word

Whoa - this was really Via De La Rosa...I had Norton AV Corporate Edition installed for some reason. Had to uninstall it, install NAV 2003, disable the Microsoft Plugg In thingie - then uninstall Word, and reinstall it - now all's well that runs well... Thank you so much for everyone here who has been so patient and helpful. Happy Thanksgiving.
