I have a few users, with Office XP, running Windows 2000 Professional
SP3 and some on SP4 that are not able to open a Word form or documen
from IE.
When they try to open a Word form/document from the intranet, i
prompts them to save/open/...they select Open, another IE windows come
up and says that the page cannot be displayed.
Please help.

Hi,

For those users unable to open the Word document, I'd suggest checking the
following: (1) Have the users who cannot open the document
downloaded/installed any updates for the version of Word they are running?
(2) What are the security settings of those who can open the document with
those who can't (i.e., are those who can't open it set too high?), (3) What
kind of options are installed on the PCs of those who can open the document
versus those who can't? (i.e., do those who can open the document have some
kind of conversion filter installed, maybe, for anything special the
document may contain?)...

** Regarding the downloading of updates -- I've had some users at my company
be able to open a document prior to installing updates and then NOT be able
to open it afterward. Pick a user who can open the document and compare this
user with one who cannot and check the installation/configuration and
presence/absence of any updates...This may give you a clue as to what is
going on...

If this does not help, please reply with the exact error that is displaying,
any information gathered by comparing the Word versions,
installation/configuration, IE versions, downloads, etc., of users who can
open the document with those who can't, and then also examine the document
to see if anything special is in the document that may be triggering this
message. At least this will give you a few things to check...

HTH,
KF
