Cannot open word documents with links

Everytime I try to open Word documents that other people
have sent to me in e-mails, I get an error saying "the
document name or path is invalid. Check file permissions
or use the file open dialog box" From what I can tell,
it seems to be documents that have some type of LINK's in
them, or HYPERLINK references. If the same person sends
me a basic word document, without any hyperlinks or
anything like that, they open just fine.

What version of Office and OS are you using? Also, are you using Norton Anti
Virus?
