Cannot Open Word

Recently, Word started crashing upon loading. I get this
error msg:

I don't know what MS09.dll does, but even after
uninstalling and reinstalling word, this dll keeps
crashing the program. I've d/led all the service packs.
I don't know what else to do. Can anyone help me on this?

More often than not, the file reported in the error is not the cause
of the problem. When an error in <filename> occurs that means an error
has occurred when utilizing the file. Typically the error is due to
some type of conflict.

MSO9.DLL btw, is used for shared components as command bars, dialog
boxes, etc. It's a file used by the Office applications.
