Cannot print multiple copies of Word 2002 documents

I am an experienced Word user with a new Dell 8300 PC and
HP G85xi printer. I cannot print multiple copies of Word
2002 documents even though several copies are selected in
the print dialog box. The MS Knowledge Base suggested I
clear the background printing option and set the printer
driver spool settings to "print drectly to printer."
Nothing helps.

All other programs print multiple copies OK.

Any suggestions?
