Cannot protect embedded Word doc in Excel

Even after setting password to modify, and read-only
recommended, once I embed the Word file into Excel it can
be opened without a prompt for read-only, and does allow
changes.

HELP! Need to protect Word documents from modification
once they are embedded in Excel.

have you tried to change the document after you have
protected it? did you protect the ENTIRE workbook, or just
the sheet?
