Cannot Save my Outlook Email

I have just converted from Microsoft Office 2003 to 2007.
Before I converted to 2007, I was able to save my outlook emails in my
documents folder. I have used save as type: Outlook Message Format.
Since I have converted to Office 2007, I can save the email, however I get
the message asking me to choose the program I would like to open my message,
and there is no option of outlook.
Can anybody help me?

Is the email actually saved as somename.msg?
Does the same thing occur if you were to drag an Outlook email to your
desktop?
