cannot see certain colors

I have entered an option somwhere and have changed my colors option. I
cannot see certain colors (and I am not sure which ones) on explorer, word,
excel and outlook. I have searched in all of the logical places but just
cannot find the correct place. PLEASE HELP!

In the Windows control panel check the accessibility options to see if 'high contrast' has been turned on.
