Cannot see Master Slide or Pictures

I am using Office2003. I am able to see my master slide and pictures in
Slide Sorter View, but not in normal view. I can only see the text. Also,
the master slide image and pictures do not print, only the text. What could
be the problem?

possibility 1- In format background is "omit bground graphics from master"
ticked.

or - Can you see the master in the design template if so click "apply to all
slides"
