Cannot see the clip art or picture inserted into a publication.

I am using Publisher 2003. When I insert a piece of Clip Art or a picture
into a publication I am working on , the clip art or picture cannot be seen
on the publication.
But the clip art/picture prints ok. What setting do I need to adjust so I
can see the clip art/ picture when working on the publication????
