cannot see the picture in my Word doc but it's there when I print

cannot see the picture in my Word doc but it's there when I print.
The block (placeholder) for the picture shows but no image.
If I print it print preview the image shows.
Somehow I changed something a few days ago and now it is effecting all my
Word documents with pictures.
