Cannot select customize text callout in data graphic

Hi all,

I face a strange situation.
I am using VISIO 2007 pro. and going to add data to the shape.

I duplicate the text callout in drawing explorer.
it duplicate a new shape.
drawing explorer -> masters -> Text callout.10

in Data graphic -> new Data Graphic -> new item -> text

I do not able to select the duplicated "Text callout.10".

However, If I open a new vsd, it is ok to select the duplicated Text
callout.


is it a bug ?

Please help.

It is not clear what document you are making changes in. When you customize
a callout master, the callout is available for use in the document
containing the master. The callout will not be available for use in data
graphics in other documents unless you copy the callout master over. The
simplest way to do this is to apply a data graphic with your callout to a
shape, then copy/paste the shape into another document.

Thanks for your reply. Let me give u more information.

I am not transfer the callout in different vsd file, I modifying in 1
vsd file only. When I duplicate the "Text Callout" in drawing explorer
window.
It created another shape named "Text callout.10".

In data graphics window, new a data graphic -> new item -> Text :
In Callout pulldown menu, it does not show the "Text callout.10", so
that I cant use the duplicate shape.

If I new a new vsd, I can duplicate a Text Callout shape and use it
immediately in the data graphic window.

sorry, it's not at all clear what you are trying to ask. Did John's

In above link is going to create a new shape "My Heading".
My case is similar to it. after I duplicate the master shape, I can
not use it in data graphic.It does not show up in Callout pull down
menu.

duplicating a master doesn't create a new master.
Save your modified shape into a stencil.
