Cannot Send Email on some wi-fi connections

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: imap

I normally use a Verizon Wireless Internet connection. But sometimes with wi-fi, I cannot send email while receive is OK. What port should I switch to in the "Override default SMTP port" box?

That would be a question for Verizon. Ask them for an authenticated SMTP
server address and port number that will allow you to send through their
server while on another network.
