Cannot send from Outlook 2003

Pete

I have just installed Outlook 2003 on my PC and now I
can't send emails! Grrrr!!!

Receives ok

SPA not required, so box not ticked.

SMTP does not require authentication, so box not ticked.

Connected via Cable broadband (NTLWORLD), SSL not
required.

Default POP3 and SMTP port nos. used, and the Test button
sends a test message OK.

I have investigated as much as I can: I have found that
when creating/changing send/rcv groups, there is a
section at the lower half of the box marked 'Folder
Options'.

Looks like this:
- Personal Folders
x Inbox

(I've used x instead of tick - I'm sure you get the idea!)
Where's OUTBOX? There is no option to add a folder. Is
this where the problem lies?

I have checked permissions, checked firewall (Norton IS
2003) - I give up!

Any clues? The Outlook help has not really helped!

Do you get any error message when you try to send?

These two statements are usually contradictory. I don't know of any cable
broadband supplier that doesn't require authentication to the outgoing
server. Of course, NTL World is in bed with so many SPAMmers, perhaps
they're the exception.
