Cannot send mail on Outlook account

Am using Outlook, with BTOW server to internet. I cannot
send any mail on my account, and the Error message reads:

Rejected by the server. Server response '550 Unknown
local user.' (SMTP server 'mail.btconnect.com', Error
Number 0x800ccc79).

How can this be fixed so that I can send emails? (My
account is working fine to receive emails).

try setting your smtp server to mail.btinternet.com or mail.btopenworld.com
