Cannot send some messages (after SP?)

Chris Bell

Hi,

Outlook 2003. Pop3 account. I just applied the latest
service patch yesterday, but I'm not sure if the service
patch has anything to do with my problem.

I have two messages that will not leave my outbox. The
icon next to each message will not turn into the "closed
envelope with motion streaks" that my other outgoing
messages do. Even if I open one of the messages in the
outbox and click "send" again, the message stays and the
icon next to it remains the open envelope.

I am grasping at straws here. So far, I've tried
rebooting and switching accounts, but I still have the
messages in the outbox

This has been very frustrating for me as I often edit a
message after I have pushed the Send button but before it
gets shipped. (attention Sarcasm alert) Even though Bill
Gates says that the only thing I need to do is hit Send,
as usual, he is WRONG about his wonderful product and how
it works in the real world.

In the case where I open a message in the Outbox and edit
it and then it will not send I have found that if I
discoverd today that if I move the message to the Drafts
folder and then open it and hit Send, it will go.

Delete them and compose the messages again. If it gives you an error when
you try to delete it try the troubleshooting tips here;
