cannot update Office SP3 w/ Teachers ED Office XP

Becky

I have a hp pavillion 750n, running Win XP, Home. I
installed the Teachers and Student version of Office XP.

I went to Office Update and downloaded service pack 3.
When told to put Office Installation Disk in CD, I did
so, but the installation program could not
find "outlook.msi" file on this xoriginal CD.

When I purchased the Teachers and Student version of
Office, I knew that I would not be able to update to
Office 2003. Does the "no update" rule also apply to
service pack updates, or is there something wrong with my
CD?.

Thanks.

Becky,
It sounds like to me you have a bad CD or a update needed prior to SP3.
The Educational version should act just like any versions of Office XP. A
service Pack is not regarded as a "upgrade" so that rule should not apply to
you, you should be able to get any patches or SP's. As to why yours is not
working, I do not have a good answer
