Cannot upgrade with disc

Many times i have upgraded my standard xp office to 2003 with my upgrade
disk. normally it just goes into upgrade mode and i follow along. this time
however it starts by extracting files and them asks me if i want to repaiir
uninstall or make changes. Has this happened to any one..Thank you , James
