Cannot view PowerPoint e-mails

I have PowerPoint 2003 and WinXP home. I have always been able to view
powerpoint shows sent via e-mail and suddenly cannot. The message says
powerpoint cannot read the file. It is sent as a pps.file. Any assistance
would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have the full PowerPoint application on your system, or have you been
using the PowerPoint 2003 Viewer for viewing presentations? If the latter, your
