I am about to close down my W2K. For that reason I want to install Office 97 on
the XP. It installs fine except now and again it looks to install on drive I or
J and claims there is not enough room - I should think so as I do not have any
partitions beyond G:
I am saying 'now and again' as I have had to try many installs. Usually I come
up with a good result in that I get 'installed successfully' - however when I
then try to use MSWord I am informed that the program has to be installed to
work - strange as I have the message that it has been installed.
I also informs me that I have to install from the place where I last installed
it. At that point on D: drive I of course do not have a 'setup'. How now?
Is there a strange place in the registry where I have to alter or generate a new
statement.
Please help - I should not have to keep this computer alive just so I can write
a letter now and again.
