Can't Access Macros>Security Option

H

Hank Stalica

I'm on Access 2002 and want to adjust my macros security level.
However, the option isn't in the menu. Why is this and how do I get it
back?

Thanks,

That 'feature' does not exist in Access 2002. Access 2003 was the first
version to include it.

The spammers and script-kiddies have succeeded in making it impossible for
me to use a real e-mail address in public newsgroups. E-mail replies to
this post will be deleted without being read. Any e-mail claiming to be
from brenreyn at indigo dot ie that is not digitally signed by me with a
GlobalSign digital certificate is a forgery and should be deleted without
being read. Follow-up questions should in general be posted to the
newsgroup, but if you have a good reason to send me e-mail, you'll find
a useable e-mail address at the URL above.

Imagine an access app without 'macros'!!

If I remember correctly, I believe that when the 'feature' was first
announced it was said that you would see the warning if the app contained
action queries, macros, or VBA code. But in my experience you actually get
the warning dialog even with a completely new, empty MDB that contains
nothing but the system tables.

I guess it's lucky that I can't afford to upgrade to Access 2003 then!

Well, if any of your users upgrade, they'll get the warnings anyway. And
that's what concerns me - I'm not the least bit concerned about warnings
that I see on my development PC, it's what users see on their PCs that
concerns me.
