Can't access Project Web Access (PWA) remotely from Cisco VPN

Dave

For our internal network, we have no problems connecting to Project Server
2007's PWA site using the URL: http://servername/pwa.

Remotely, while connected with CISCO VPN client, entering
http://servername/pwa gives me "Sorry, the page you are looking for cannot be
found"

If I use the fqdn: http://servername.domainname.com/pwa, I do get an
authentication window asking me to connect to fqdn/pwa. So, I enter my
authentication information as follows: User name: domainname\username, and my
password. At the bottom of IE, it says "website found, waiting for reply",
but then a few seconds later, I get the "Sorry, the page you are looking for
cannot be found".

At work, Project Server 2007 are running on a Windows 2003 Server R2 Ent
Edition. A second server is running the SQL 2005 server.

Can anyone try and point me in a direction to look for an answer.
Internally, Project Server is working great. However, not being able to
access Project Web Access remotely with our VPN connection is a major problem
for us, since many people will have a need for remotely accessing this
information.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Dave:

It sounds as though NetBios may not be enabled on your VPN, this is one
reason why you might see this behavior. Make sure your DNS entries are setup
correctly as well. For internet access you'll need to enter AAMs correctly
to resolve the FQDN or this will ultimately fail as well. Once you're
connected to the VPN, you should be able to use the internal URL to resolve
the PWA site. Look at the VPN configuration first. Can you user Remote
desktop to connect to the server?
