Can't access project web access

Hi,

I wondering if anyone has a solution for this

When i try to log into PWA with the admin account and p/w i get the
following error message:
Project was unable to log you on at this time because the Project Server
database cannot be accessed. Please try again later or check with your
Project Server administrator. (5001)

When i try with a windows authenticated account i get the following:
An internal server error has occurred and Project cannot log you on at this
time. Please try again later. (5008)

Now the 5001 error code has something to do with Access to the database
being unsuccessful and the 5008 code suggests an exception occurred getting
the hash value on the password or the hashed password value from the database.

What I've tried:
1.) removing the admin password....
2.) using the EditSite utility to verify that the accounts and their
associated passwords are correct for both roles
3.) deleting the accounts and setting up new ones giving them access to the
appropriate roles with new passwords..then using the EditSite utility to
ensure the passwords were correct......

I'm really baffled by this..Any help would be greatly appreciated

Do yo see errors in the server application event log? How about security
log? Is this a fresh installation? What version of Project Server are you
using? What service pack level? Give us something to go on.

I think this has something to do with updates that could have been delivered
to the machine via sms and not applied untill the machine was restarted..i
have 3 setups..a virtual machine, a test config and a pre-production
setup..the only setup not to be affected was the virtual machine one which
wasn't on the network and isn't subject to updates..the log files have been
corrupted so not much use. The version I have installed is 10.01.0311 and I
have applied SP1
