Can't access web sites from e-mail

In Outlook 6.0, if I get an e-mail with a web site address in it, I can't
access the web site. The cursor turns into the hand, I click on the web
address, it shows up down below but nothing happens. If I try to move down
to cut and paste the web address, it goes away. I can cut and paste if the
full web address is listed in the e-mail but if it is just a one word link,
I'm lost.
