Can't add combo box or subforms to form

I have Office 2003 on my system and have developed a database for a client.

Case: I have many forms in the database, all with subforms and combo boxes.

Problem: About a week ago, the combo box in one of the forms quit working,
(only that one, all others continue to work). I quickly deleted it and
thought to create a new one as it only takes a couple of seconds. The
database crashed and wanted to close, repair and create a backup. I let it.

I began doing the usual investigation as to why I couldn't add the combo
box. The form contains 1 subform. The subform contain 3 subforms. I
recreated the entire form, including subforms and added one at a time to
eliminate, or nail down the cause. Result...I can only have one of the
subforms in the subform. In this new scenario, I could add a combo box into
the main form without error or issue.

Also, now when I try to add one of the 2 other subforms to the subform, the
system crashes.

I created a new shell and imported everything hoping that this might be the
problem, but it was not. However, when I did this, I was notified that there
was a missing reference (msado25). I thought ah ha! Perhaps a download I
did from Microsoft a week ago caused the problem. I restored my computer to
a time well before the download, saw that 2.5 was returned to my references
list. But this did not help. The database still crashed.

I investigated the possiblity that it was the queries (the 2 subforms are
connected to complex sum queries that may task the system,) but they work
just fine on their own outside the main form.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to find a solution?

Thanks in advance,

Connie
