Can't add previously delted user in PWA

When I try to add a user account that was previously added to the
users in PWA, and then deleted I get this message:"The resource name
is already in use. You must select a unique name for the resource."

Is there a way to add a user that was previously deleted?

I deleted a user in my 2007 demo environment and had no problems re-creating
that user.

Can you outline the exact steps you followed to delete the old user?

Are you sure the user is not still in the system as inactive or something?
