Can't add to dictionary

Hi there,
One of our users can't add a word to his dictionary when
he runs spell check. The Add button appears but it is
greyed out. Other users can do this with no problems.
I'm guessing it is a permissions setting but not sure
where to look for it.
Any ideas????
