Can't adjust column width in Word XP

D

Daniel Hefford

Hello everyone, having a very annoying problem with Word
XP Document. Under Word XP, the table columns can't be
resized, have tried changing all the property fields etc
but it will just not let me adjusts the columns. How ever
under Word 97, this document is fine, no problems with the
tables at all.

Any thoughts? The document was originally created under
Word XP.

Setting column width in Word 2000/2002 can be very frustrating. Sometimes
you have to drag the column borders on the ruler to "unlock" them, and then
you can fine-tune them in the Table Properties dialog. Be sure to disable
auto resizing. For best results, though, it's sometimes easiest to drop back
to the old Table | Cell Height and Width dialog; see

Dear Daniel: I have encountered exactly the same problem.
I wonder whether you have solved it in the interim and
was wondering if you could share the solution with me.

Thanks,

Joshua Ronen.
