Can't Change Assigned Project Manager

I followed the instructions per Gary Chefetz;
I changed the Owner in PWA and had the new Owner re-
publish all assignments; but the project is still showing
up in PWA; I've assigned myself to one group (I'm the only
member), which has only one category which is limiting the
view to only projects I manage... but I still see this re-
published project. Any advice?

If you followed Gary's steps, I can assure you that the Owner and Manager of
the project have been changed within the system. I believe that your
viewing problems stems from the Group/Category issue you mentioned. Exactly
what Group and Category are you a member of? Let us know.

Thanks for your reply. Here's the information you
requested.

USER
----
a member of only one group, with no assigned categories or
permissions

GROUP
------
uses Project Manager defaults throughout and linked it to
the My Projects category set up as follows:

CATEGORY
--------
PM defaults in the Permissions section

Projects
----------
only projects indicated below: "Allow users to view all
project they manage" (no other options checked)
all available project views in right pane

Resources
---------
allow users to view only their own information
all assignment and resource center views in right panes

Project Center
--------------
Porfolio Analyzer: 2 in the right pane
Porfolio Modeler: none

Another observation: we currently have about 40 projects
set up in project server, of which only 4 are mine. After
changing the Owner, most (except for 8 of them) of them
are not viewable to me now, even though their respective
PM's have not yet "become the manager" for all the tasks;
Does the change in Owner determine what's included in "My
Projects"?, but the "become the manager" just reroute
update requests?

As described originally, I had one PM republish, selecting
the "become the manager" for all the tasks; but I can
still see it (and edit it) in PWA.
