Can't change display name

Hello,

I am running Outlook 2007. In my address book, I had my work email address
come up with me just typing the first letter of the school that I was working
at. I have recently changed schools in our district and I can not figure out
how to update my display name.
I type in my address, and the computer automatically puts in the old display
address. I right click and go to email properties. I change my display name
and click okay. The address still comes up old school. The old address
doesn't let me make changes when it is in the To... line either.
I have deleted the address entirely, even from the contacts folder and the
computer still spits out the incorect school name when I start to write my
work address. I am befuddled. It does not seem to save anywhere so that the
changes I make stick.
Help.
Thank you.

It's because the name that pops-up is a cache of addresses that you've used
before; it holds no link with your Contacts folder.
If you want to remove an address from the cache, highlight it with your
arrow keys when the list pops-up and press DELETE on your keyboard.
