Can't change Phone #'s in contacts & save without auto dial launch

If I modify contact phone # then attempt to save the auto dialer "Local
Informations pop-up window apears & sets me into a loop that I then have to
Task mager and force quit from outlook.

WHy? & HOw can I fix?
