can't change the line color or line style on autoshape in word 200

I select autoshape and click on the down arrow on the line color button or
the line style buttons, but they are greyed out. I've tried selecting
autoshape and right click mouse, format autoshape, but the line color and
style are greyed out. Any suggestions? Thank you.

You have to click on the autoshape, actually draw something , then try
selecting line color. With WORD it isn't like choosing a color to draw with.
You draw then choose the color.

Hope this helps

I did as you suggested - I can change the line color on the new drawing, but
the autoshape lines remain unchanged? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

If you want to select this line as the default new color, right-click on the
AutoShape you've already formatted and choose Set AutoShape Defaults.

Thanks a lot -- that works.
