Can't change txt with & insert via format tool bar. How to do?

I want to change the orientation of a word document, including clip art and
photo insert. I tried going to the format tool bar, but the 'Text Dircetion'
is shadowed and cannot be selected.

Try File > Page Setup

Click on Landscape.
