I'm not quite sure which accounting package you're using. Unfortunately there are several PC and Mac software packages that carry
the 'Simple Accounting' name.
There is a U.K. 'simple Accounting' built on the 'MYOB' software product (
http://simpleaccounting.co.uk) and there is a Simple
Accounting package built on
'Simply Accounting' is a Sage product, rather than a Microsoft one. For questions on Simply Accounting you may want to use the Sage

You may want to try the free Office 2007 (Small Business) Accounting Express at some point
http://office.microsoft.com/accounting
or from the same location MS Office 2007 Accounting Professional (trial edition).

When I try to close the fiscal year in Simple Accounting I get the following
message, " Could not modify the current record because it has dependencies
(For example, an item that appears on one or more documents cannot be
deleted). This makes no sense to me and I am a retired C.P.A.<<
